When the Programme Starts

PLP runs multiple intakes each year, and applications open on a rolling basis. New cohorts are launched country by country, meaning learners can apply as soon as their country window opens. Most intakes begin within a few weeks of acceptance.

Who the Programme Is For

The programme is ideal for:

• Young Africans interested in tech
• Learners aged roughly 18–35
• Beginners with no prior coding experience
• Students from underserved communities
• Anyone motivated to learn software development online

PLP focuses on accessibility and aims to support as many learners as possible across the continent.

What the Programme Covers

The Power Learn Project offers a 16-week software development training programme, covering:

• Python programming
• Web development foundations
• Databases and APIs
• Digital literacy
• Problem-solving and project work

Learners also receive soft-skills training, mentorship and community support to help them prepare for jobs and freelancing opportunities.

How Much the Programme Covers

PLP is fully funded, meaning:

• 100% of tuition is covered
• No enrolment or training fees
• Learners receive free access to all materials and resources

This makes it one of the most accessible tech programmes available across Africa.
